Echoes of the Overworld

I wanted to make an ambient track that has the same lonely but peaceful feeling you get when exploring a new world in Minecraft. To keep it from getting boring, I made sure the song actually changes and goes somewhere instead of just looping the same 4 bars the whole time.

It starts out quiet with a simple chord progression and a soft melody. In the middle of the song, I cut the melody completely and switched to a darker set of chords to change the mood and create a breakdown. After that, the main melody comes back in but a lot higher up to give the track a big, emotional peak. At the very end, the bass and the main melodies drop out entirely, leaving just the background chords fading into a soft atmospheric sound until it goes completely silent.
